WOULDN’T it be good if every country had a Julia Gillard [the Australian Prime Minister]. Read her speech online. She has more guts and gumption than just about every other leader in the world.
She dares to stand up for the people she represents by giving advice to those who enter the country because they want to. She tells them they chose to live there and, therefore, they must conform to that country’s ways, not vice versa.
She gives them the option to leave if they are unhappy with the way of life in which they asked to live.
Unfortunately, she seems to stand alone in support of the Australian citizens. Oh, if only our lot would do the same.
I’m not anti-[legal] immigrants, live and let live is quite a good motto, but the continual whingeing and dictating as to what they will or will not do or accept in our country wears thin.
Come on our guys, get up there and tell a few home truths to those who choose to live here.
