A SALON in York is pampering a select bunch of clients who have multiple sclerosis, ahead of a week of awareness into the condition.

Saks, which has branches in York and Wetherby, welcomed 37-year-old Jo Addyman to its Davygate shop on Monday, for a hair makeover, a manicure at nearby Nail Bar One, followed by lunch for four at All Bar One in New Street.

Nicky Proctor, of Saks, said: “Jo is the first of six women who have MS and live locally who are going to get this pampering treatment.

“Jo was diagnosed with MS in 2002, but she says ‘it doesn’t define who I am, it’s only a small part of who I am’.”

Saks will also be donating £1 from every client appointment during MS Awareness Week, which runs from May 21 to May 27.
