A THRILLING penalty shoot-out victory earned Fulford the spoils at Hamilton Panthers’ Under-10s Tournament.
The Fulford youngsters triumphed 3-2 on spot-kicks against Easingwold in the final of the tournament on Little Knavesmire.
The sides were locked at 0-0 after normal time despite good chances falling to Fulford’s James Carr, Will Turner and Joe Iggulden, who saw his downward header rebound out off the underside of the bar.
Tom Heath saved Easingwold’s opening two penalties while Joe Chadwick scored for Fulford and Tom Blades’ effort hit a post.
Iggulden and Will Turner then scored for Fulford to match two successful spot-kicks for Easingwold.
However, Easingwold’s next attempt was wide, handing Fulford the trophy.
Coach Richard Iggulden said: “All ten Fulford players were great over the course of the tournament and they all deserve much credit, particularly for the character they showed to win the final on penalties.”
