WHILE respecting the age of Ida Mary Goodrick, in my opinion her letter of May 12 borders, not for the first time, on racism against Germans.

It is 66 years since the Second World War ended. The vast majority of contemporary Germans were not even born then.

Germany has learned from its past. It no longer gets involved in wars. That distinctly contrasts with Britain, which is frequently involved militarily in various places, such as Afghanistan and Iraq.

The Germans are not America’s lackey. I wish we British could say the same.
