HEARTFELT thanks to all readers who helped to make the pre-opening concert in aid of York Against Cancer and the Lord Mayor’s Charities on Tuesday at the York Barbican such a resounding success.
It was great to see so many people involved and having fun. Huge made it a night to remember.
The funds raised on the night of just under £2,000, and all of the money from the £5 ticket sales (including booking fee), will go towards York Against Cancer and the Lord Mayor’s Charities: the British Heart Foundation (BHF) and Our Celebration.
Since 1987, York Against Cancer has funded services and facilities designed to improve the lives of people affected by cancer in York and the surrounding area.
As the charity approaches its 25th year, it continues to work hard fundraising to provide these vital services.
Our Celebration is an independent provider of high-quality mental health services in York and its surrounding area.
Its wide range of services helps up to 100 people as they recover from a variety of mental health problems. As the nation’s heart charity, the BHF saves lives every day by funding groundbreaking research. It cares for heart patients and support their families.
