SOME 234 athletes took part in the tough Ripon 10-mile race, the second event in the Yorkshire Dales Series.
Thirsk and Sowerby Running Club’s members were led home by Phil Utley, who finished a fine 12th in one hour 06 minutes 07 seconds. Lorraine Hiles was first in the F45 category, 61st overall, in 1-18-17.
Thirsk and Sowerby hosted the first race in the Harrogate League Summer Series and had a big turnout to try out a new course.
Charlotte Sanderson was the club’s first finisher, and second lady, when 27th in a good 35-14.
Joanne Pleasance was the club’s sole representative in the inaugural Levisham Limping Fell Race and finished 48th.
