RESIDENTS with an interest in the local community are being urged to consider joining Tadcaster Town Council.
The authority wants to hear from anyone aged over 18 and living in or within three miles of the brewery town, who wants to be involved and make a difference, said council clerk Avis Thomas.
She said council work was both challenging and rewarding. βIt can include anything from allotments, to litter bins, street lighting and litter, special events, newsletters, planting in the town, awarding grant aid, planning, rights of way, seats, shelters, cemeteries, understanding the needs and requirements of the young and old and the whole community,β she said.
She urged anyone interested to contact her for more information and an application form by May 31, by phone 01937 834113 or by emailing tadcaster.towncouncil@virgin.net
The council office at The Ark in Kirkgate is open Monday to Thursday 9.30am to 12.30pm, but closed on Fridays.
