ABOUT 650 runners braved the wet weather to raise money for the Cystic Fibrosis Trust at Newby Hall.
The Yorkshire 10k and 2k fun run were held in the private grounds of the stately home in Ripon last Sunday for the seventh year.
Pat Kilpatrick, regional fundraising manager for Cystic Fibrosis Trust in the North East said they normally raise between £8,000 and £10,000 from the run and hope to make a similar amount this year.
She said: “We have had fantastic support from local people and Newby Hall, especially and the staff who helped put on the event.”
The event was supported by the Thirsk and Sowerby Harriers running club, as well as families of children with cystic fibrosis and the Sunflower Nursery from Pately Bridge, in support of one of their children with cystic fibrosis.
The charity also has places left in the Great North Run. Visit cftrust.org.uk to enter.
