Cueball ‘A’ had Faye Hawksby (75 finish) and Kath Fairclough, closing 67, to thank for holding on to second place after a 6-3 win at Woolpack.
Burton club’s Angie Blackmore checked 60 to win a lone hand pairs. But Severus cleaned up the remaining games for a 6-3 win.
Division three champions Acomb ‘B’ won all the pairs tussles for a 6-3 victory at Beagle.
Slip captain Felicity Whittingham combined with Amber Powell to seal a 5-4 win at Dick Turpin.
