One of Britain’s most distinguished lawyers will host a debate on justice and civil liberties at a sold-out event at the University of York.

Baroness Helena Kennedy QC has championed civil liberties and promoted human rights throughout her career, and will ask ‘What Has Happened To Justice?’ at a special lecture on Friday.

The talk will be the first School of Social and Political Sciences Lecture, and will be held at the university’s Berrick Saul building.

Brian Loader, from the university, said: “Baroness Helena Kennedy has used many public platforms during her career to argue with passion, wit and humanity for social justice.

“It is an honour to welcome her to York for what promises to be a fascinating public lecture.”
