I WAS very interested to read the contribution from Mrs Dunn (Letters, May 11). Diabetes is a terrible illness, unfortunately it is something you cannot see and therefore gets forgotten. It is more common than ever these days.
My son has had to live with diabetes from four years old and is now 47, after a lifetime of injections, four times per day and blood tests. Unfortunately it affects jobs – you cannot join the army, or the police force or even drive a taxi.
