A York school choir is to appear on stage at the Grand Opera House with a legendary soul group .
The children of Our Lady’s RC School in Acomb will join The Drifters in a rendition of their classic hit Saturday Night At The Movies.
Yesterday, band member Michael Williams turned up at the school with the group’s tour manager to oversee rehearsals of a dance routine with the pupils.
Teacher Natalie Kinrade, who also runs the school’s choir, said: “When he first turned up they were a bit shy but when they got down to dancing and singing they had a great time.”
The concert takes place on Sunday, July 3.
