YOUNGSTERS from Stamford Bridge were presented with awards for their good work in the local community.
The Young Volunteer of Stamford Bridge Award began last year after seven young people donated £220 to Stamford Bridge Parish Council to buy litter and dog waste bins for the community.
They raised the money themselves as part of a project which impressed councillors so much they created the award scheme.
It awards youngsters in the community who help improve the village.
At the annual parish meeting, the new chairman of East Yorkshire Council, Kay West, presented 17 young people with awards for their good work with the community and the environment.
