A PARTIALLY-SIGHTED woman will this Saturday stage the latest event in her huge campaign to raise £40,000 for the Guide Dogs For The Blind Association.
Judy Shaw, 60, from Acomb, is trying to raise £1,000 for each of the 40 years she has owned a guide dog, and launched her 40/40 Vision campaign in 2009 to reach her target “in any way possible.”
She said yesterday she had raised £2,160 so far, and was now set to collect more through a sale to be staged between 10am and 3pm on Saturday in the Acomb WMC car park.
Mrs Shaw, who is blind in one eye and has only minimal vision in the other, said she had a “conservatory-full” of items including clothing, jewellery and toys – some of which had been donated by people who had read of her endeavour in The Press – and she had decided it was time to try to sell them.
