HAPPY at 100 – Eva May Waldon celebrated her milestone birthday with her family and friends at Connaught Court nursing home in Fulford, York.
Born in Rochester, Kent, Mrs Waldon was one of six children.
Her father was a Thames barge master and christened her Eva May after one of the barges.
Eva, along with her husband William, managed a pub, The Knight of Aveley, near Stevenage for many years.
She has lived in Lewisham, Stevenage, Essex and Skegness throughout her life.
Now living in York, Eva enjoys sewing, embroidery and jigsaw puzzles.
She has received her telegram from the Queen and celebrated her special day surrounded by her close family and friends, with a sherry party yesterday in her honour at Connaught Court nursing home.
