TWO pictures by the the York-born maritime and figurative painter Henry Scott Tuke are to be sold at Bonhams auctioneers in London as part of and auction of 19th Century paintings on July 13.
The artist, who lived from 1858 to 1929, is best-known for his pictures of nude boys and young men, which he began painting as a professional artist in 1886, after he moved to Cornwall. The two pictures, Beach Study and Back Of A Boy Bather are expected to reach £30,000 to £50,000 and £5,000 to £7,000 respectively.
