BIKES got some TLC when Dr Bike visited pupils at English Martyrs’ RC Primary School in York.
The day-long event, organised by biking charity Sustrans, allowed children to find out how the city’s cycling paramedics work, while D. Bike checked that the children’s bikes were roadworthy.
The youngsters picked up some basic bike maintenance skills so they can keep an eye on their bikes and ensure they are in top condition. Dr Bike, aka, Naomi Wells, the Sustrans Bike It officer for York, said: “This event was a fantastic opportunity for the children of York to learn about people who use a bike every day to save lives and to ensure their bikes are maintained for their own safety.”
