A NUMBER of public parks and gardens will be closed by City of York Council this afternoon, due to high winds, which are due to continue throughout the day.
The council-run parks and open spaces which will close this lunchtime include Hull Road, Rowntree Park, West Bank, Glen Gardens and Clarence Gardens.
The spokeswoman said the parks were closed as a safety precaution, and the council would also consider closing the bar walls to the public if the high winds continued.
