A MAGISTRATE from Selby has been elected chairwoman of the Royal British Legion’s women’s section.
Wendy Bromwich, from Ellerton, has been a magistrate in Selby for the past 30 years, and was given the honour at the legion’s national conference last week.
Ms Bromwich, 69, is one of the longest-serving Justices of the Peace in the region, and will now represent the national organisation at home and overseas.
She said: “It’s a huge honour to have been elected chair and I am very privileged to have got this far.
“I’ll be making sure that the women’s section’s welfare work is carried out. A lot of the women members have children and still need help.”
