York comprehensively beat Wigginton at home in division one, with Phil Langley scoring 24 against his old club with partner Pete Goodall. But that was bettered in division seven for York 4ths by his dad, Stu Langley, who took 25 games in a 64-44 win at Wigginton thirds, in tandem with Jack Bass.

York first are now top-flight leaders, while York fourths now top division seven.

Pocklington gained their first top-flight win, thanks to a final round 10-2 by Luke Taylor and Darren Nicholson-Smith, to seal a narrow 55-53 win for Pock at unlucky Bubwith.

A 27-game captain’s contribution from Paul Adams helped Rowntree Park narrowly beat visitors Castlegarth 58-50, taking Rowntree off the bottom of division two.

Meanwhile, Rowntree Park 2nds lost only one rubber to win 67-41 at Castlegarth 2nds. Martin O’Connell and Rich Skidmore top-scored with 24 and that win keeps Rowntree Park 2nds in front of division four boasting a 100 per cent record.

Poppleton 2nds head division two after their third straight win, this time at Boston Spa, with captain Tom Cantrell and Richard Moss bagging 25 games.

Copmanthorpe came out fighting at Starbeck, to take the first round 20-16. But in blustery conditions they then collapsed to a 61-47 reverse, despite a combative 22 games from Mark Blackburn and Jack Wood.

Sherburn lost 64-44 at division three leaders, Stamford Bridge.

A defiant 27 from ’Bridge helmsmen, Tim Hunt and Robin Bedford, put an end to Sherburn’s year-long winning spree.

A rampant Knaresborough King James’ swept aside Boston Spa seconds, 74-34 at home, with three strong pairs all scoring in the 20s.

Fulford seconds, Wilberfoss and Wigginton seconds are separated by just a game each at the top of Division 4. Matt and Dan Poole took 24 games as Wilberfoss downed Dunnington 2nds 68-40.

Martin Evans and Tom Craddock helped Fulford nick the points at Copmanthorpe.

York 3rds let loose their gunslingers in their division five shoot-out with Sheriff Hutton.

Top-guns James Hirst and Nick Linfoot bagged 33 and 31 hauls with Gordon Bruce and Reg Favell, respectively, as the Sheriff’s young stars were snuffed out 92-16. Bishopthorpe stay top, unbeaten, while Starbeck seconds leapt into second place after winning 66-42 at Heworth. Shaun Winstanley and Kevin Lodge again shone for ’Beck, with 25 including an imperious final 11-1 against their hosts.

There was joy for Bubwith as their second team registered the club’s first win of the season. Rob Jackson and Steve Pinion were the difference with 26 in a 61-47 victory at Alne and Tollerton.

David Lloyd 2 weathered a late charge by visitors, Riccall, to win 57-51 and maintain their flying start.
