IT WAS good to see a photo of a seat in York for the public to use (The Press, May 20).

It wasn’t in Parliament Street, where the council has taken most of them up for some unknown reason.

It is okay for the council to stop Thornton’s from turning part of the street into an outside café as it would “spoil the view” – but what view? A bouncy castle at one end (most of the time) and the Splash Palace at the other.

All we want is somewhere to sit.
