A WOMAN has died following a crash in East Yorkshire involving two cars and a lorry.
The collision happened at a set of traffic lights on the A164, at Jocks Lodge, Beverley, at the junction with the A1079, at about 5.20pm on Monday.
A Vauxhall Astra, driven by a 32-year-old man from Scunthorpe, was travelling in the direction of Skidby and had stopped at the traffic lights.
A cream VW Beetle convertible was waiting at the lights behind the Astra when a green and white coloured Scania articulated lorry with fridge unit trailer collided with the rear of the Beetle, pushing it into the rear of the Astra.
Julie Watson, 41, of Nunburnholme Avenue, North Ferriby, who was driving the Beetle, was taken to Hull Royal Infirmary in a critical condition. She died of her injuries yesterday.
The Astra driver sustained whiplash injuries. The lorry driver, a 56-year-old North Yorkshire man, was unhurt. He was arrested at the scene and has been interviewed and released on police bail pending further inquiries.
Witnesses should phone 0845 6060222
