I SAW The Crucible at York Theatre Royal last week, the play was powerful and moving as ever but the sound was appalling, much of the dialogue lost in mumbling delivery and averted faces.
I appreciate it was in the round, but we did not have the same problems with other productions.
One of the actors was wearing a hearing aid (wished I had one that night) and was only audible when he lost his stage temper.
Come on Theatre Royal, you can do better than this.
