WHO has removed the original brass plaque from the entrance of the war memorial hospital?
This recorded the laying of the foundation stone by HRH Princes Mary, the Princes Royal, on July 27, 1926.
It has been replaced with a stone tablet, which is of no relevance whatsoever with the hospital.
Yet according to the paper, this is being used as the memorial stone outside. Another bad mistake. I have written to Janet Probert [managing director of community and mental health services in North Yorkshire and York] about the matter, but as yet have had no reply.
Why take notice of someone who was only born in the town before the hospital was built, and knows a bit of its history; also along with my daughter worked there for a while? I am a true Selebian.
