A WOMAN feared she would be attacked after a road rage incident in York.

Police are hunting for the male driver of a blue Citroen van following the incident at about 8am on Tuesday (MAY 24).

A woman driving a red Mini Cooper just managed to avoid a collision with the van on the A19/A64 Fulford interchange roundabout.

Following the near miss, the driver of the van, who had joined the roundabout at the designer outlet junction, got out of his vehicle and began verbally abusing the woman.

The woman, fearing that she was about to be attacked, drove towards York.

Police are now appealing to anyone who witnessed the collision to come forward with information.

PC Cheryl Hunter, of York police, said: “This was obviously a frightening experience for the victim who genuinely feared she was going to be attacked.

“The incident occurred at a time when there is usually quite a lot of traffic travelling in and out of York; therefore it may be possible that someone witnessed the incident.

“I would urge anyone who saw what happened or can help identify the offender to contact the police or Crimestoppers with information.”
