A NEW £340,000 lottery-funded community project has opened in East Yorkshire.
The Life Centre, in Market Weighton, offers services to residents in the town, Pocklington and Holme-Upon-Spalding-Moor.
The centre is offering computer training in its 16-computer suite, work on community allotments, exercise classes and healthy eating workshops, as well as activities for parents, children and teenagers.
The project, based at Armstrong House, in High Street, has recruited five staff to run new activities under the National Lottery’s Reaching Communities programme for the next three years.
The centre is open every day for a range of activities, from 9am to 3.30pm and from 5.30pm to 9.30pm. Details of activities are available online at the-lifecentre.org.uk
