Hogg the Builder’s summer specials at Long Acre, Camblesforth, are enough to make even a gloomy Brian Page raise a smile.
We received a delightful press release from our friends at Hogg the Builder this week.
It included phrases such as sizzling summer offer, summer sunshine and blue skies.
Very evocative. Except that we opened and read it during a thunderstorm with raindrops the size of golf balls banging off the office window.
Still, when we looked a little closer we realised that it included some news that should definitely bring a smile to the lips of those looking for super new homes at very reasonable prices.
The homes are at Hogg’s splendid development at Long Acre, Camblesforth. And a very nice selection they are, too.
We’ll begin with their latest three-bedroomed, two bathroom home, the ‘Easington’, which is now fully carpeted and ready to move in to. It is priced at £169,950 and – what about this for a sunshine offer - Hogg will pay your five per cent deposit.
There is a nice offer, too, on its sister house, plot 11, also priced at £169,950 and which is waiting for a buyer to select the final interior finishes. Hogg are offering the option to upgrade to a superior interior, which could include improved floor coverings, an upgrade to the kitchen or bathrooms, adding fitted bedroom furniture or a digital surround sound system to create a truly individual home.
The Easington is a detached property (linked only by the garage).
It has a spacious kitchen/dining room, including quality units and a NEFF oven, hob and hood, and an impressive entrance hall leading to the sitting room, which has at its heart a feature fireplace. What’s more, there is useful understairs storage and a downstairs cloakroom.
Upstairs there are two double bedrooms, the master having a modern ensuite, and a third bedroom which makes a good-sized single bedroom or office space.
The pretty family bathroom is half tiled with sanitary ware by Ideal Standard. There is a generous-sized garage which has the added benefit of a personal door leading to the rear garden.
Also available at Long Acre are two ‘Holgate’ style homes. The Holgate is a three-bedroomed link detached dormer bungalow offering flexible accommodation with a ground floor double bedroom/study. It also features a delightful kitchen including a NEFF oven, hob and extractor with room for a breakfast table, a separate dining room for formal dining, a generous sitting room with double patio doors leading to a private lawned garden and a downstairs cloakroom. On the first floor there are two further double bedrooms with ample space for freestanding or fitted wardrobes and a spacious half-tiled family bathroom. The Holgates are wrapped up with a single garage. These are priced at £209,950.
The ‘Kilnwick’, meanwhile, is a two-bedroomed house (with four available in a mix of mid and end terraces). The kitchens here include quality units and a NEFF oven, hob and extractor. The layouts include a sitting/dining room with French doors leading out to a garden and a downstairs cloakroom. Upstairs there are two double bedrooms and a pretty family bathroom. With the bonus of south-facing gardens and two parking spaces per home, they are also competitively priced with the mid terraced Kilnwicks costing £139,950 and the end terraced version £144,950.
Finally. Long Acre offers two ‘Hornby’ properties which offer all the accommodation of the Kilnwick with the addition of a walk in cupboard to the master bedroom. These are priced at £139,950.
