ONE hundred guests donned their best frocks and ties to help boost the coffers of a primary school and playgroup.
The May Ball was held in the grounds of Sutton-on-the-Forest Primary School grounds, and raised £3,000 for the cause.
Local businesses donated an array of prizes for a raffle and auction, with a spa voucher for Aldwark Manor generating the most attention among guests, raising £200. Bracelets from Fosters Jewellers and Hunter Wellington boots from Rideaway York were also up for grabs.
Helen Clark, who helped organise the event, said: “A lot of hard work was put in and we are definitely keen to do it again next year, if not sooner.”
