I WAS disappointed to read that W Bratley (Letters, May 25) felt that the performance of The Crucible at York Theatre Royal was too quiet.
This didn’t put me off though, and I write having just returned home from seeing a brilliant performance of The Crucible.
I personally felt that the sound was fine, and I really enjoyed the performance.
If the Crucible is anything to go by, being the first play of the “in the round” season, I look forward to seeing more plays “in the round”.
The set-up takes you closer to the action, and heightens the theatre experience.
The Crucible runs ends tonight, so catch it while you can. I can certainly recommend it.
