TREBLE-WINNING York Cubs FC Under-12s are basking in the glory of a trophy-laden campaign.
The talented Cubs squad brought down the curtain on a fantastic season by winning the York FA Acaster Steel Cup and the York Mitchell Sports League Plate final within the space of three days.
At the Plate final at York City’s Bootham Crescent ground, the Cubs were also crowned U12s champions of York Mitchell Sports League division one.
In all, Cubs played more than 30 league and cup matches in 2010/11 and scored more than 150 goals, averaging about five goals per game.
There were also notable successes for the club in the County Cup, where they eventually lost out in the semi-finals having beaten four first division Middlesbrough-based teams during the competition.
The squad, which draws some of the best footballers from ten different York schools, have won their league division in all but one of the past five years.
