PROBLEMS for rail travellers have continued today as new problems have affected the East Coast Main Line. Damage to overhead power cables between Grantham and Peterborough, which affected people travelling between York and London yesterday, were fixed this morning.
But now a seperate case of damage at Copmanthorpe is affecting services between York and Doncaster.
A spokeswoman from East Coast said they expected services, which are currently running about an hour late, would return to normal at about 4.30pm.
East Coast is currently running a shuttle service of diesel trains between York and Doncaster while electric trains cannot run.
She said engineers worked through the night to fix yesterday's problems by 8.30am, but the new damage at Copmanthorpe started causing more problems at about 11am today.
She said they were still looking into the cause of the damage.
