PERFORMANCES by the Riding Lights Theatre Company demonstrated care for the environment at the Big Environment Celebration at York Minster.
Throughout the day, drama sketches showed visitors what they could do to help the environment. An art competition celebrating “God’s creation” also took place during the celebration, which was held at York Minster.
The Bishop of Hull, the Right Rev Richard Frith, launched the event as the Archbishop of York, Dr John Sentamu, was unable to attend because of illness.
York Minster guides also gave tours to show its hidden green credentials and a midday Eucharist service was held.
