WHY does every little bit of York need a building on it? I have just researched a little about a proposed development in Acomb at 25, The Green.
This, I dare say, will largely go unnoticed by the majority of people in the area, yet affect quite a few families who live here and enjoy the peace, quiet and wildlife that this small area gives us.
The developers have already rebuilt a small house, which is fair enough given that the building had seemed to be in a bad state of disrepair.
However, now they are cracking on with the rest of this development before this application has been given the thumbs-up from the council, or so it would seem.
After seeing the planning document and associated application, I strongly disagreed with the sections regarding trees and hedges, and have written to tell the council this.
These trees offer and define local character and charm. The wildlife that the trees support and the trees themselves are surely all-important to this part of Acomb.
Also, the development is clearly visible from the public footpath and road that runs by the proposed development and also from the Green itself.
