A SUSPECTED burglar who raided an East Yorkshire home and sparked a police chase was among those arrested by Pocklington police last month.
A search helicopter and dozens of officers were scrambled to Barnby Moor after a police van and a white Transit van collided during the chase on May 16 arising from a theft in Beverley earlier that day.
A man has subsequently been charged with burglary.
Sergeant Peter Rogers, of Pocklington and Wolds Weighton Neighbourhood Policing Team, said the suspected criminals caught in the last month also included 16-year-old male wanted for assault. He has since received a reprimand for the incident.
A 31-year-old man has been charged with assault occasioning actual bodily harm (ABH) following an incident in Stamford Bridge on May 25 and in a separate incident a man from the Pocklington area was arrested for an assault in the town during the early hours of May 15.
Other police activity includes:
• Two men were caught with cannabis during a stop check on Pocklington Industrial Estate on May 9. A 20-year-old Pocklington man received a formal warning for cannabis possession and a 21-year-old man from Melbourne received an £80 penalty notice for possession of cannabis.
• Following a public order incident in Pocklington in December last year two men have received four months imprisonment at a youth offenders’ institute, suspended for two years, and three men received four months’ imprisonment suspended for two years. All were also ordered to complete unpaid work.
• A 16-year-old male from the Stamford Bridge area received a final warning for criminal damage.
• A 14-year-old boy has received a reprimand for common assault.
• A 17-year-old man from Pocklington received a reprimand for two offences of theft committed in the town in April.
• A vehicle was seized because it was found without insurance in Market Place, Pocklington, on April 30.
• A 45-year-old Pocklington man was arrested for assault following an incident in the town on April 27.
Police in East Yorkshire have also revealed their priorities over the next month.
Sgt Rogers said they include stepping up patrols at Woldgate College in association with teachers after reports of underage teenagers drinking in the vicinity of the school.
Those who are under age and either found in possession of, or in groups with, alcohol will receive parental letters and anyone found supplying alcohol to underage young people will be subject to a £80 penalty notice.
