WITH regard to the letter from W Brakley (Quiet Crucible, May 25) may I share an experience at the other end of the scale.
Last week, I went to see Blood Brothers at the Grand Opera House. It was a brilliant production the cast and performance were marvellous; even though this is the fourth time I have seen this show, I was still moved to tears at the end.
There was just one thing that spoiled it for me: why does it have to be so loud? I find the music and singing uncomfortably loud. I know it adds to the dramatic impact, but a few decibels less would still have the same effect and would not make your ears ring so much on the way home.
It could be a generation thing as I am of the older ones, and I know the young ones like their music the louder the better. But for me it did spoil the show a bit and I would be interested to hear if other people felt the same.
