I HAVE become saddened over the past year by the way my local paper has taken to pouring scorn over everything the coalition government has done and is trying to do to get this country back on its feet.

I am all for political debate but it should be balanced.

You know perfectly well that the last Labour government came very close to bringing this country to its knees by spending money it didn’t have, and yet when you come to reporting any cuts that have to be made you fail to mention they are having to be made.

Can you imagine if we all ran our households the same way the Labour government ran the country?

We would be considered reckless and stupid for having spent money we didn’t have.

Would it not also be the case that our family and friends would advise us to “tighten our belts” and make cuts in our expenditure as quickly as possible before the bailiffs came knocking at the door!

None of us would ever choose to make cuts, but let’s not forget who got us into this mess.
