SIX people – including a child – were injured following a head-on collision in East Yorkshire which shut a stretch of road for nearly five hours.
Police, firefighters and ambulance were called to the A1079 near Beverley shortly before 9am today.
The collision involved two vehicles - a red Ford Focus travelling towards Beverley and a blue Peugeot 206 travelling towards Hull when it happened on the A1079, between Jocks Lodge and the Dunswell roundabout.
Three men from the Peugeot were injured along with a man, woman and child from the Ford Focus.
No injuries received are believed to be life threatening and all casualties were taken to Hull Royal Infirmary.
The stretch of road and the slip road from the A164 onto the A1079 were shut until shortly before 2pm whilst the road was cleared and police began investigations.
