TWO people have been arrested on suspicion of drugs and money-laundering offences after police raided a York caravan site and seized cannabis and cash.
The warrant was carried out at Clifton caravan site yesterday morning. A man and a woman, both aged 40, were arrested on suspicion of possession of class B substance, possession with intent to supply a class B substance and money laundering.
Inspector Jo Brooksbank, of the York Rural Safer Neighbourhood Team, said: “Drugs-related crime is a blight on society and must be tackled at every opportunity. North Yorkshire Police and our partner agencies will not hesitate to take action to disrupt this illegal activity and bring offenders before the courts.”
The caravan site was also the scene of a raid last year which saw a £20,000 drug haul discovered, although it did not result in any convictions.
Anybody with information which could help this investigation or about other drug-related crime should phone the force on 0845 6060 247 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
