NICK Love, who fails to mention that he was a Lib-Dem candidate at the recent election (The Press, May 31), says that he shares The Press’s view that Labour appointing its own members to the chairs of half the council’s scrutiny committees is “control freakery”.
In 2003, when Nick’s own party took control of the council, there were ten scrutiny-related committees, or boards as they were called then. The Lib Dems took the chairs of seven of them.
Kettles and pots come to mind.
Coun Barbara Boyce, Labour Member for Heworth Ward, Guildhall, York.
