DIVISION two leaders Pocklington are gunning for a rapid return to the top flight of the Fulford Ladies’ Invitation Tennis League.
The East Yorkshire side toppled Appleton Roebuck 68-40 with captain Helen Whilesmith and Andrea Bland teaming up for three hard-fought wins.
Ruth Hill partnered her 11-year-old daughter, Rebecca, to win 24 games and help Pocklington to the top of the table alongside Fulford and Copmanthorpe.
Pock’s second team went down 75-33 to Starbeck in division four, with victorious captain Diana Lang and Julie Fenwick unbeaten in collecting 29 games.
Fulford 3 and Bishopthorpe 2 drew 54-54 in division five, while in division six Wilberfoss picked up their second win as they ousted Bishopthorpe 3 62-46.
York 2 are still waiting for their first points in division one after a 57-51 defeat by Castlegarth.
