I WAS so impressed by the story of Joel Lishman who, along with his friend John Docherty, is cycling coast to coast to raise money for Breast Cancer research, inspired by his mother’s illness (The Press, May 28).
Having given birth to four children in York, I have been lucky enough to meet Joel’s mum, community midwifery sister Joanna, on a number of occasions.
She is an inspirational woman, and has given so much to so many women over the years, and I would like to thank her very much.
Not surprising then, that she has such amazing children, and that Joel is thinking of others, even at this difficult time.
I wish Joel and John all the best for their trip. And send warmest wishes to Joanna and all her family. You are amazing!
