STAFF at a Selby supermarket have launched a fundraising scheme for a children’s charity.
Morrisons supermarket in Market Cross hopes to raise as much money as possible for Save the Children over the coming year.
It will join Morrisons stores from across the country, as the chain has chosen Save the Children as its national charity.
All the money from collection boxes at the tills, as well as money raised from the “bags for life” sold at the counters will go to the charity.
Justin Binyon, a duty manager at Morrisons in Selby, said: “We cut a cake at the same time at the same time as every store in the country did to mark the start of the charity fundraising. Staff are involved in choosing the charity for the year.”
