A PUNTER from York who won £35,320 after picking six winning horses on an £8 bet missed out on taking his winnings to more than £300,000.
Building labourer George Marwood, 60, of Huntington, paid off his mortgage after predicting six winners at Haydock and Newmarket.
If he had picked the winning horse in the totescoop6 Scottish Sprint Cup at Musselburgh on Saturday he would, have won a further £292,866. But Mr Marwood’s horse, Favourite Girl, came seventh.
Another punter, David White from Barnsley, who was also a contender for the cash, was equally unlucky.
