A GROUP of snooker players are taking a break after they racked upa total of 13,945 points in a single potting session.
But Wayne Glaister and his eight colleagues were more pleased about the £2,000 plus they raised for MacMillan Cancer Support followingt their 24-hour marathon at the Bootham Conservative Club in York.
“It was a good night,” said Mr Glaister, of Anthea Drive, Huntington.
“The lads were fantastic. Now we are absolutely shattered.”
His son, Matthew, joined him on the green baize tables as the nine men played through the night from 11am on Monday to 11am on Tuesday and completed 144 frames. The club committee ensured the men had a steady supply of coffee and other support and also set up collection tins and a book on the club bar for them. The exact total raised will be known later.
