COUN Boyce’s terse reply to my letter on Labour’s “control freakery” suggests that they are rattled (Letters, June 3).

If, however, Barbara had taken care to read my letter a little more carefully, she would have seen that I actually supported Labour’s stance in proposing that scrutiny chairs should come from opposition parties.

What I exposed in my letter was the hypocrisy of Labour’s complete about-turn now it is politically expedient. I note that she offers no defence for those actions in her letter – which is perhaps even more telling.
