WITH reference to North Yorkshire police splashing out more than £35,000 on bottled water (The Press, June 3), one assumes they don’t place much faith in the tap water supplied by Yorkshire Water.
Working in an office in my past experience, we had a tea club, where everyone subscribed to purchase tea, coffee etc with no exceptions to the rule, including senior officers at no cost to the taxpayer; we took turns in making a brew and washing up.
Failing all else, if one wished to be excluded from this exclusive tea club, you brought your own utensils.
I have do doubt that installing expensive water cooling equipment goes well beyond the realms of just the police service. But we all pay the cost in the end.
