A GROUP of knitters are hoping to raise hundreds of pounds for York Hospital’s Special Care Baby Unit when they set up stall in the hospital’s foyer next month.
A “knit and natter” group, which was set up by residents at Fairfax Court, in York Road, Acomb, has created a range of woollen items, from teddy bears to cushion covers.
Maggie Potter, one of the group, said they had already raised about £670 for the unit and they hoped to raise the total to £1,300 when they sell their items on July 7.
