Residents of the historic North Yorkshire villages of Long Marston and Hutton Wandesley near York will be opening their gardens to green-fingered enthusiasts over the weekend of June 18 and 19.
The event will be the villages’ first community open gardens event for eight years.
About ten gardens will be open to the public on both days, alongside activities for all the family.
Children will be invited to follow a scarecrow trail and gardening books, preserves, jams and plants will be on sale. Light refreshments will also be available in the village school. All money raised from the event will put back into the school, the village hall and the parish church. Access to the event and gardens costs £5 for adults.
