A NORTH Yorkshire man who was worried about his health died after he took a number of prescription drugs and alcohol, an inquest has heard.
Terry Meah, 42, had been watching films with his partner, Janice Williams, at the home they shared in Dorts Crescent, Church Fenton, on the evening of January 22, before she went to bed and left him drinking in the living room.
When she came downstairs the next morning, Mrs Meah said she found Mr Meah on the floor of the living room, with a number of empty pill packets and a note addressed to her which said: “I can’t do with this world any more, see you in the next. Love you.”
The inquest heard Mr Meah worked as a chef at the Half Moon pub in Collingham, near Wetherby, but had been off work in the weeks leading up to his death due to a high level of potassium in his blood, and had been concerned that he might suffer from diabetes.
Coroner Rob Turnbull recorded that Mr Meah had taken his own life as a consequence of a combination of prescription drugs overdose and alcohol.
