A pupil of Carlton-in-Snaith Primary School will open the village mini-feast at the village hall on June 25.
Megan Craig, 11, was chosen from a draw involving her classmates at the school. The village feast, which last year celebrated it’s centenary, has been put on hold this year because of a lack of volunteers to help run the event.
Helen Whitehead, chairman of the event, said: “After the centenary we could just not let it go, so we decided to hold a smaller event.”
It is hoped the traditional feast will be back next year.
Attractions at the mini-feast will include events for all ages ranging from bingo sessions, tombola, face-painting, followed by a barbecue.
